Even in an ideal world the endless wheel (chakra) of individual suffering (dukha) will never stop turning likewise the endless chakra of samsara...The only way to overcome suffering and rebirth is to let go and reach nirvana, the state of globalised nothingness.

My work is inspired by the Buddhist philosophical principle “all life is suffering”. This suffering is of a general character and is caused by the individual as well as by society. Burma is integrated into the world only slightly and yet we share this characteristic as well as the realities around “the war on terrorism” with the rest. Love, material desires, passion, sex, hunger for fame, egoism, greed, jealousy and other negative deeds are individual causes of suffering and yet felt in the same way across the five continents, that are symbolised around my image. Those are depicting my face, my individual suffering in place of other people's suffering. Even in an ideal, equal, prosperous and peaceful world the endless chakra of individual suffering will never stop turning likewise the endless chakra of samsara...The only way to overcome this suffering is to let go and reach nirvana, the state of globalised nothingness.
