Superlatives are inventions. They are transient and impermanent. It is rather imperative that we look at our countries´ resources as our greatest assets for we are a country blessed with an abundance of natural and human resources.

This work comprises of 10 small clear square boxes with a painting inserted into each. The boxes were intentionally made in small sizes to emphasise the resemblance to an award or trophy. On top of each piece of the box, a text is engraved that best reveals the current propensity in Malaysia to label each and every-thing with a superlative. The painting indirectly or directly responds to the text. The engraved text will cast a shadow that is projected onto the painting. The shadow will fade when the light changes or disappears. Thus, the works illustrate that these categories and superlatives are inventions, they are transient and impermanent. It is rather imperative that we look at our countries´ re-sources as our greatest assets and as our highest treasures for we are a country blessed with an abundance of natural and human resources.
