As an artist my chosen language is art. As a Finnish citizen my chosen country is Vietnam. What you see, is the result of all this: a maelstrom sucking everything and everybody in. You can’t remain outside. It’s the same as with globalisation.

Exploring the theme of this exhibition I tried to weave several themes into my artwork:
Identity? - A luxury for millions of people whose main duty of life is an endless struggle to put together a living for today and future days.
Globalisation? Two sides of the same coin…a lot to be said, yet…
In my work, the original idea for a painting is always the loser and the painting the ultimate victor. This is the way I want it to be: allowing intuition to preside and lead me into the mountains, valleys, rivers and seas, the cloudy or clear skies of my inner worlds. This search is an investigation - about my own identity, of course but maybe also about something which is bigger and stronger, something which might be hinted at on the periphery of the original, archaic and global, common for every human mind.
