The Foundation’s office in Chiang Mai is located in a compound near
the university campus. Two interns can work and live there at the
same time in modest accommodation that is being provided free of
charge. The idea is to bring together young interns from Europe and
South East Asia to enable reciprocal learning. Preference is given
to those young people from Thailand and the South East Asia region,
who are interested in sustainable development and gender justice. A
good working knowledge of English is required. Even though HBF
provides free accommodation and a small allowance of 5,000 Baht per
month, travel expenses and health insurance have to be borne by the
intern. The duration of the Internship should be at least 3 months,
preferably longer.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation offers prctical aspects of
administration and planning to the interns. The internship will help
to get an insight into working in a multicultural context and
particularly into culture and traditions of Thailand. Advanced
students will work on specific subjects related to their experiences
and interests.
